Our specialized and individualized care has received recognition from well-known industry organizations, as well as the many families that we have served. A National Award Winner, Avalon stands out among all others as the absolute premier provider of dementia care. The IBM Employees Benefit Trust selected Avalon Memory Care as the choice of IBM employees as an outstanding provider of a unique, revolutionary form of dementia care.
Avalon Memory Care has pioneered a unique model of care that is tailored to the individual needs of those affected with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments in a safe and secure environment. Our comprehensive philosophy of care means that we attend to the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each resident to ensure they achieve their full quality of life potential with individualized daily routines.
Avalon strives to be the premier option in dementia care so that we can continue to provide superior service to the families in our homes. Our award winning care and loving staff allows community members and their families to bond with the care team like a family sharing the good days and hugs along with the more difficult days. At Avalon Memory Care, we invite you and your family into our family to provide the best possible care in an environment that feels most like home. It is the most natural living environment to allow those with dementia to live as normally as possible as their condition progresses.
Founded in 1995 by Richard Seib and Dr. Dan Griffin, Avalon Memory Care was born out of a desire to provide a more compassionate and holistic approach to dementia and Alzheimer’s care. Richard, inspired by his ministry work with the elderly, saw the need for a palliative and home-like environment that prioritized community members’ overall well-being and quality of life. Today, Avalon Memory Care has expanded to over 30 locations across Texas and Missouri.
Being a caregiver to someone with memory loss can be deeply rewarding for both you and the person with dementia. However, it can also be stressful and emotional. As your loved one’s mental, emotional, and physical state deteriorates, it can take a toll on your own psyche and well-being. Many caregivers stop taking care of themselves in favor of spending more time and focus on their loved one. This can lead to caregivers developing anxiety, depression, and burnout. The CDC reported that 53% of caregivers “indicate that a decline in their health compromises their ability to provide care.” How can you take care of someone else while still taking care of yourself? Follow the below strategies on how to feel supported as you care for others.
Avalon Memory Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
